Amidst the desolation, in early 2020, the family matriarch reached out to solicit assistance in reconstructing their home. Her vision was clear: a residence merging contemporary architectural elements with quintessential Filipino motifs, while prioritizing measures to fortify the structure against future natural calamities.
The resulting two-storey dwelling stands as a testament to this vision. Its primary facade, facing the bustling barangay street, embodies a harmonious fusion of locally-sourced materials that resonate with the essence of Filipino identity and sense of place. These indigenous materials not only honor tradition but also serve as a tribute to the cultural heritage deeply rooted in the community.

In stark contrast, the architectural form of the building encapsulates a "moderne" sensibility. Employing simple geometric spaces, the design crafts a minimalist and unassuming configuration that transcends time and trends. This juxtaposition of the local and the contemporary is a nod to the evolution of Filipino architecture, embracing modernity without relinquishing its cultural roots.
Crucially, embedded within the design's aesthetics are strategic interventions geared towards fortifying the structure against future calamities. Through innovative engineering and resilient construction techniques, the residence stands as a bastion of strength, prepared to withstand the forces of nature with enhanced resilience and durability.
